Basketball Recap: Nova Finds Playoff Glory Versus Cooper City

Nova had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Cooper City Cowboys, posting a 69-16 win. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Nova's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ke'Mora Evans, who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave Evans a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaelynn Housey, who earned ten points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

Nova smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.

Nova has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points over those games. As for Cooper City, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.

Looking ahead, Nova will be playing at home against South Broward at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Nova is on a six-game streak of home wins, South Broward a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Cooper City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
