Recap: Washington Waldorf vs. Model Secondary School for the Deaf Eagles

After flying high against the St. Anselm's Abbey Panthers last Friday, Washington Waldorf came back down to earth. Washington Waldorf fell to Model Secondary School for the Deaf 53-47. The game was a 25-25 toss-up at halftime, but Washington Waldorf was outscored by Model Secondary School for the Deaf in the second.

Luke Florio was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points for Model Secondary School for the Deaf. That makes it three consecutive games in which Florio has scored at least 25% of Model Secondary School for the Deaf's points. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Vaccaro III, who scored 9 points.

Washington Waldorf's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Model Secondary School for the Deaf, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington Waldorf will take on Sandy Spring Friends at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Sandy Spring Friends knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Washington Waldorf likes a good challenge. As for Model Secondary School for the Deaf, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Smith Jewish Day School at 7:00 p.m.
