Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mounds View). They came out on top against the Irondale Knights by a score of 82-74 on Tuesday. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Knights are ranked 256th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Irondale lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jake Dedominces, who to rack up 25 points. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Richard Russell, who on his way to 18 points.

Mounds View's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points over those games. As for Irondale, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-20.

Coming up, Mounds View will face off against Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Irondale, they will square off against White Bear Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
