Basketball Recap: Kings Way Christian School Takes a Loss

Kings Way Christian School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 79-31 loss at the hands of the Victory Baptist Warrior. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 77-22 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Kings Way Christian School still got an impressive performance from Tristin Philistin, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jed Yarnall, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Kings Way Christian School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

Victory Baptist got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dontaye Bell out in front who went 7 of 11 en route to 14 points and eight boards. Carson Kuykendall was another key player, putting up 13 points and five steals.

Kings Way Christian School's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Victory Baptist, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kings Way Christian School will head out to square off against Peoples Baptist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Victory Baptist, they will venture away from home to face off against Sugar Hill Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Victory Baptist's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.
