Softball Recap: Jack Britt Takes a Loss

Jack Britt came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-4 to the Hoke County Bucks. The defeat continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their matchups with the Bucks: they've now lost eight in a row.

Ashanthy Marcano made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Sophie Casagrande, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Jack Britt now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Hoke County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jack Britt will face off against Fairmont at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hoke County, they will challenge Scotland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Hoke County's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
