Softball Recap: Normal West Takes a Loss

Normal West lost against Olympia back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-2. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rylee Hollings made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Normal West's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Olympia, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Normal West will challenge Normal Community at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ironmen will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Olympia, they will take on Normal University at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
