Volleyball Recap: Sterling Black Bears vs. Bennington Bulldogs

Sterling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bennington Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Tuesday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-14.

Leading Bennington to victory were Mara Pickering and Marley Rodenbeek. Pickering had nine digs and three aces, while Rodenbeek had nine assists and eight digs. That's the most aces Pickering has posted over her last 13 contests.

Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 15-17. As for Bennington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-7 record this season.

Sterling and Bennington are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Black Bears will head out to take on Medicine Lodge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bennington, they will square off against Herington at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
