Volleyball Recap: Xiomara Ramos and Payton Watts Secure Win for Lafayette

Lafayette won the last time they faced Paintsville and things went their way on Saturday too. The Generals won by a set and slipped past the Tigers 2-1.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Lafayette who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 23-25, 15-6.

Leading Lafayette to victory were Payton Watts and Xiomara Ramos. Watts had eight digs and two aces, while Ramos had two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Lafayette was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive contests.

The win got Lafayette back to even at 9-9. As for Paintsville, they dropped their record down to 10-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Lafayette has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Taylor County on the 20th. As for Paintsville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against North Hardin on the 20th.
