Omer Yurtseven could be a name to watch for 2018 ROY honors.

What a weekend for 7-foot center Omer Yurtseven of Turkey, regarded as a Top 25 prospect in the 2016 class by 247Sports.

As reported by EuroHoops.net, Yurtseven scored 91 points and grabbed 28 rebounds in a win for the Fenerbahce U19 team on Saturday.

On Monday, he was announced as a signee by North Carolina State in a major coup for Wolfpack head coach Mark Gottfried.

Yurtseven had a breakout performance in February at the Basketball Without Borders Global Camp in February and fell out with the Fenerbahce club shortly after. EuroHoops.net reports that he was relegated to junior team status after rejecting a contract offer – which probably explains why he is signing with North Carolina State so late.

The 17-year old took the floor in an exhibition against the Brooklyn Nets in October 2015.
Yurtseven has represented Turkey at the U16 and U18 levels.
