The Sparrows Point Pointers will venture away from home to face off against the Catonsville Comets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sparrows Point is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.1 runs per game this season.
While Sparrows Point's victory against Western Tech & Environmental Science wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pointers skirted past the Wolverines 11-9. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Pointers considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Allie Roberts was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Alexa Bienkowski, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Sparrows Point kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Tech & Environmental Science only managed seven.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Catonsville made sure to put some runs up on the board against Dundalk on Wednesday. The Comets walked away with a 17-13 win over the Owls. The victory was some much needed relief for the Comets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Kaia Gross made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and nine unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Meiller, who went 5-for-6 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Lilly Barrone was another key player, going 2-for-6 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.
The win got Catonsville back to even at 4-4. As for Sparrows Point, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 5-2.
Catonsville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Sparrows Point has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Catonsville, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Sparrows Point's sizable advantage in that area, the Comets will need to find a way to close that gap.
Sparrows Point might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from Catonsville in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Pointers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
