Basketball Game Preview: Fideles Christian Rangers vs. Horizon Christian Academy Warriors

The Fideles Christian Rangers will face off against the Horizon Christian Academy Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Fideles Christian lost to Lanier Christian Academy on the road by a 54-36 margin. The defeat continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Lightning: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Horizon Christian Academy). They breezed by Trinity Classical to the tune of 59-20 on Monday. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 36 points or more this season.

Horizon Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Nyla Black, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 steals. The match was Black's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Darby Graham, who went 6 of 8 en route to 14 points and four steals.

The victory got Horizon Christian Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Fideles Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Fideles Christian ended up a good deal behind Horizon Christian Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2023, losing 50-33. Can Fideles Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
