Recap: Lugoff-Elgin Demons vs. Trinity Collegiate Titans
The Lugoff-Elgin Demons pushed their score all the way to 57 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 61-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Trinity Collegiate. Lugoff-Elgin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Demons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nigel Chivers, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Chivers hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylen Mumford, who scored 14 points.
Lugoff-Elgin has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Trinity Collegiate, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lugoff-Elgin will take on Westwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westwood is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Trinity Collegiate, they will head out on the road to challenge First Baptist School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (First Baptist School is ranked 123rd, while Trinity Collegiate is ranked 107th).
