Tuscarawas Central Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 26th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 17-13 to the East Canton Hornets. On the bright side, the 13- run performance marked the Saints' highest-scoring game to date.

Andrew Reiger put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and nine unearned) runs off eight hits. Reiger was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Ellis Jackson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-5. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Holden Civiello was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

Tuscarawas Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for East Canton, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Tuscarawas Central Catholic will host Chippewa at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chipps' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Saints' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
