Adams Central's loss ends 17-game winning streak on the road

On Saturday, the Adams Central Patriots faced the Grand Island Central Catholic Crusaders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Adams Central took a 50-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grand Island Central Catholic. Adams Central's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Grand Island Central Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryndal Moody out in front who scored 16 points along with two steals. Moody hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Carolyn Maser was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 14 rebounds and five steals.

Adams Central's defeat ended a 17-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3. As for Grand Island Central Catholic, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Adams Central will take on Lexington at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lexington will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Adams Central is ranked 22nd). As for Grand Island Central Catholic, they will be playing at home against Lincoln Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln Lutheran is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
