Basketball Game Preview: Sumter Gamecocks vs. James Island Trojans

The Sumter Gamecocks will square off against the James Island Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sumter is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Sumter is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Westwood on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Sumter was outmatched by Westwood and fell 58-19. The contest marked the Gamecocks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Anari Tindal was Sumter's leading scorer, having posted three points. Kamille Gregg held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Meanwhile, James Island humbled Stall with a 67-26 victory. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.

James Island's win came from a few key players Sumter will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tiana Graf, who posted 14 points. Sarah Ross was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Sumter now has a losing record of 10-11. As for James Island, their victory bumped their record up to 10-14.
