Recap: Lyman Eagles vs. Pinedale Wranglers

After a string of five wins, the Lyman Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 65-49 to Pinedale. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lyman of the 63-48 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Payton Anderson, who scored nine points along with four blocks. Anderson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was BriLee Bradshaw, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.

Elyn Bowers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pinedale, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Bowers hasn't dropped below 19 points for five straight games. Alyxis White was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Lyman's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Pinedale, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lyman will challenge Powell at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Powell is coming into the game with five straight defeats at home, meaning Lyman will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Pinedale, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lander Valley at 2:00 p.m. on February 10th. One thing working in Pinedale's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven contests.
