The Aragon Dons are taking a road trip to take on the Menlo-Atherton Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Aragon is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Burlingame just ended the team's six-match winning streak on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.
Aragon was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Burlingame work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-12.
The losing side was boosted by Sosefina Tatola, who had 26 digs and four assists. Eseta Nisa also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.
Menlo-Atherton not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 2nd (when they won 3-0). They blew past Sequoia 3-0. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Ravens recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
While Menlo-Atherton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 25-19.
Aragon better focus on containing Teagan Forcier-Koranda and Kylie Winters as the pair were huge in Menlo-Atherton's win. Forcier-Koranda had 17 assists and seven digs, while Winters had six digs and two assists. Forcier-Koranda is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last four games she's played.
Aragon's defeat dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Menlo-Atherton, their win bumped their record up to 20-8.
Aragon came out on top in a nail-biter against Menlo-Atherton in their previous matchup on Saturday, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dons since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
