Basketball Recap: Hammond Comes Up Short

Hammond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oakland Mills Scorpions. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Scorpions are ranked 39th).

Hammond's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Oakland Mills, their win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Marriotts Ridge the next time they take the court. Hammond will head out to face Marriotts Ridge on Monday, while Oakland Mills will head out to face them on Wednesday.
