The Wilcox Central Jaguars won the last time they faced the Dallas County Hornets, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Wilcox Central snuck past Dallas County with a 52-46 win. Given Wilcox Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Dallas County is ranked 289th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dallas County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Davis III , who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and seven blocks. Those seven blocks set a new season-high mark for him. Cameron King was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Wilcox Central has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Dallas County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10-1.
Wilcox Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Clarke County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dallas County, they will head out on the road to face off against Prattville Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
