Hazlehurst has gone a perfect 6-0 against Port Gibson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Waves at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hazlehurst is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 40 points last Friday, they were much more limited against McComb on Friday. They took a blow against the Tigers, falling 47-13. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-6.

Meanwhile, Port Gibson played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Ouachita Parish 44-6. While losing is never fun, the Blue Waves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 183rd in Mississippi, while the Lions are ranked 23rd in Louisiana).

Hazlehurst's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Port Gibson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
