Basketball Recap: Davie County Takes a Loss

Davie County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against West Rowan, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The War Eagles fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 61-58 on Wednesday. The War Eagles have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Davie County still got an impressive performance from Lexi Mickey, who went 11-for-15 on her way to 26 points along with five boards and three steals. Mickey is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 73% in the last three games she's played dating back to last season. Emmie Burris was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

Davie County's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Davie County has already played their next matchup, a 52-47 defeat against Alexander Central on the 25th. As for West Rowan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-34 victory against Community School of Davidson on the 21st.
