Baseball Recap: Mercer Island Comes Up Short

Mercer Island fell victim to Hazen and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 8-0 to the Highlanders. The Islanders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Highlanders earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Mercer Island's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Hazen, their record now sits at 6-8-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mercer Island will head out to take on Juanita at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Hazen, they will venture away from home to square off against Issaquah at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Highlanders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
