After a string of three wins, Union's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 47-40 to the Broken Arrow Tigers. If the Redhawks were looking for revenge after losing 51-40 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

McKenzie Mathurin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Broken Arrow, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Mathurin is crushing it when it comes to points: she's scored at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Rekiah Bowen, who posted eight points and three steals.

Union's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4. As for Broken Arrow, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Union won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bixby at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bixby knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Union likes a good challenge. As for Broken Arrow, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Enid at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Broken Arrow is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.2 points per game this season.
