Volleyball Game Preview: Poly Bears vs. Vista del Lago Ravens

The Poly Bears are taking a road trip to challenge the Vista del Lago Ravens at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Poly made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Arlington, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Poly blew past Arlington 3-0 on Tuesday.

While Poly won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-14, 27-25.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Vista del Lago and JW North had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Vista del Lago walked away with a 3-1 victory over JW North on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Ravens have beaten the Huskies on their court since March 7, 2022.

Vista del Lago walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 19-25, 25-22, 25-22.

Vista del Lago's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-10. As for Poly, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Poly might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Vista del Lago in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can Poly avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
