Soccer Game Preview: Davidson Day vs. Covenant Day

The Davidson Day Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Covenant Day Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are still undefeated (Davidson Day has five wins , while Covenant Day has four).

Davidson Day's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Greensboro Day School as Davidson Day made off with a 6-0 win. Given Davidson Day's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Greensboro Day School are ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee kept up with Covenant Day until halftime last Friday, but afterwards: not so much. Covenant Day was the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over Rabun Gap-Nacoochee. The result was nothing new for Covenant Day, who have now won three matches by four goals or more so far this season.

Covenant Day pushed their record up to 6-0-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Davidson Day, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
