Basketball Recap: Salt Lake Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Salt Lake Academy lost against American Prep WV back in January of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Salt Lake Academy Griffins received a blow as they fell 66-48 to the American Prep WV Eagles. The Griffins' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Salt Lake Academy still got an impressive performance from Braylon Brock, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jesus Soto, who went 5 for 9 en route to 13 points and six boards.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 6-5. As for American Prep WV, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salt Lake Academy will take on Rockwell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rockwell will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Salt Lake Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for American Prep WV, they will challenge Mount Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. American Prep WV knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Mount Vernon likes a good challenge.
