Basketball Recap: Ursuline Academy Takes Down Ranked Cape Henlopen

On Saturday, Ursuline Academy faced Cape Henlopen in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Ursuline Academy Raiders walked away with a 64-53 victory over the Cape Henlopen Vikings. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Despite the loss, Cape Henlopen still got an impressive performance from Amalia Fruchtman, who went 8 for 12 en route to 18 points and seven boards. Fruchtman has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Faith Re, who posted nine points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

Ursuline Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Cape Henlopen, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Coming up, Ursuline Academy will welcome Sanford at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Sanford will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Ursuline Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
