Basketball Recap: Verbena Takes a Loss

Verbena lost against Notasulga back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Verbena Red Devils took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Notasulga Blue Devils.

Verbena has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Notasulga, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-6.

Verbena will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Autaugaville at 6:00 p.m. on January 13, 2025. As for Notasulga, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Booker T. Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Booker T. Washington will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Notasulga surely won't give up without a fight.
