NORCROSS, Ga. - After three lead changes,
Jefferson (Ga.) took the lead for good when
Bryant Shirreffs ran for a touchdown with 8:00 remaining in the second quarter and held on to beat
Greater Atlanta Christian (Norcross, Ga.) 42-14 on Saturday.
The Dragons were up 27-14 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Shirreffs in the second quarter.
Jefferson expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. JHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Shirreffs touchdown run.
The loss snapped the Spartans' 4-game winning streak.
Shirreffs played well for the Dragons in the victory. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for two touchdowns.
Jefferson went into the matchup giving up only 15.9 points per game.
