Given the Barons' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Vikings are ranked 1091st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Huntington Beach was not quite Edison's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 3-2. The Oilers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Fountain Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three games. As for Huntington Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6-3.
