Baseball Recap: Fairmont Firebirds vs. Miamisburg Vikings
Fairmont extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 13-12 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Miamisburg Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 last Wednesday.

Tyler Mastro was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Mastro wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Skyler Slifer, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
