Volleyball Recap: South Dade Takes a Loss

After flying high against Varela last Thursday, South Dade came back down to earth. The Buccaneers fell 3-1 to the Southwest Eagles on Tuesday. The Buccaneers haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Emily Lopez was a one-woman wrecking crew For Southwest. as she had 34 digs and five aces. Those 34 digs gave Lopez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabela Perez, who had four digs and four aces.

South Dade now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Southwest, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Dade will host Northwestern at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southwest, they will welcome Mater Lakes Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
