Softball Recap: L'anse Creuse North Has No Trouble Against Lakeview

L'Anse Creuse North barely beat Lakeview the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Crusaders blew past the Huskies 14-4 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Crusaders considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Linsay Beyer made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashlee Lane, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Lily Smeltzer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

L'Anse Creuse North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

L'Anse Creuse North's victory bumped their record up to 12-14. As for Lakeview, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. L'Anse Creuse North will face off against Romeo at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakeview, they will challenge Grosse Pointe North at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
