Football Recap: Desert Falls to Mammoth in First Game of Season

Desert unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 76-6 loss at the hands of the Mammoth Huskies on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Eli Ericson had a dynamite game For Mammoth., rushing for 157 yards and three scores on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 85 yards and one touchdown. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Ericson a new career-high. DJ Gray was in the mix too, providing Mammoth with two TDs.

Looking ahead, Desert will face off against Immanuel Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mammoth, they will square off against Stuart Hall at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
