Recap: Indianapolis Northwest W Warriors vs. Kokomo HomeSchool Eagles
The Indianapolis Northwest W Warriors had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 44-43 win over Kokomo HomeSchool.
Kokomo HomeSchool's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Megan Hufford, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals. Hufford continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Anna Huffman, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Indianapolis Northwest W's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Kokomo HomeSchool, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Indianapolis Northwest W does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kokomo HomeSchool won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Varsity Opponent at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th. Varsity Opponent has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 25.
