Football Recap: Juab Wasps vs. Richfield Wildcats
Juab was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 24-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Richfield Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wasps of the 24-14 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Richfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Griffin Wayman out in front who threw for 135 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 56 yards. The dominant performance gave Wayman a new career-high in rushing yards.
Juab's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Richfield, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Juab will square off against North Sanpete at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Richfield, they are taking a road trip to take on Carbon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richfield is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
