Basketball Game Preview: Rockridge Rockets vs. Sherrard Tigers

Rockridge has won five straight games at home, while Sherrard has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Rockridge Rockets will host the Sherrard Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Monday, Rockridge strolled past Morgan Park with points to spare, taking the game 69-50. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Mustangs are ranked 269th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Sherrard against Quad Cities Christian on Monday as the team secured a 68-39 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Rockridge is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Sherrard, their win bumped their record up to 18-2.
