Softball Recap: Hardin Northern Sets Scoring Season-High Against Perry

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hardin Northern). Everything went their way against the Perry Commodores on Wednesday as they made off with a 23-4 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Milee Seabrook made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Seabrook was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hardin Northern got a massive performance out of Baylie Bacon, who scored five runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave Bacon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addy Bacon, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

Hardin Northern hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Perry struck out seven times.

Hardin Northern's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Perry, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Hardin Northern will host Kalida at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.4 runs per game on average), something the Polar Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Perry, they are taking a road trip to face off against Ridgemont at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Commodores are facing the Golden Gophers at the right time seeing as the Golden Gophers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
