Soccer Game Preview: Orange Beach vs. Osborne

The Orange Beach Makos will face off against the Osborne Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Orange Beach was handed a three-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Saraland 2-1.

Meanwhile, Osborne had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Pirates. The win was all the more spectacular given Osborne's disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 126th in Georgia, while Fairhope are ranked 29th in Alabama).

Orange Beach is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That lines up perfectly with their 11-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four games. As for Osborne, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-6.
