Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Howell

Howell had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Liberty Eagles by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Eagles back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Howell had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-22.

Jocie Nepute paced Howell's offense, picking up 14 kills. Nepute got some help from Grace Thompson and her 18 assists. Nepute was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Howell's win bumped their record up to 6-20-2. As for Liberty, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-11-1.

Looking ahead, Howell is taking a road trip to square off against Howell Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Liberty, they will be playing at home against Troy-Buchanan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
