Baseball Recap: Lake Stevens Comes Up Short

Lake Stevens fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Bishop Blanchet on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bishop Blanchet Bears by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Vikings couldn't push the score so high this time.

Lake Stevens got a good showing from Manny McLaurin, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Lake Stevens saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Bouley, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Lake Stevens' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bishop Blanchet, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Lake Stevens will look to defend their home field on Friday against Burlington-Edison at 4:30 p.m. As for Bishop Blanchet, they will face off against Mercer Island at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
