Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Addison Martin and Avary Woosley Lead Clifton to Victory

Clifton lost to West on January 3rd, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Clifton Cubs skirted past the West Trojans 35-32. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cubs have posted since November 16, 2023.

Leading Clifton to victory were Avary Woosley and Addison Martin. Woosley posted 15 points, while Martin went 5 for 11 en route to 12 points. Woosley has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Clifton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for West, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clifton will venture away from home to face off against Whitney at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for West, they will head out to take on Troy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
