Softball Game Preview: Yorkville Christian Mustangs vs. Earlville Red Raiders

The Yorkville Christian Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Earlville Red Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Yorkville Christian has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 12.

Plainfield East hit Yorkville Christian with a four-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs came up short against the Bengals, falling 12-2.

Meanwhile, Earlville suffered their biggest defeat since April 8th on Friday. They lost 10-0 to Sandwich. The Red Raiders' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Earlville's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Yorkville Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Yorkville Christian took their win against Earlville when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 10-1 score. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
