Softball Game Preview: Cannon Falls Bombers vs. Lake City Tigers

Cannon Falls has won three straight games at home, while Lake City has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Bombers will welcome the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Cannon Falls proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 15) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Kasson-Mantorville 5-3.

While Lake City didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over Red Wing on Monday. The game was the first time the Tigers have beaten the Wingers on their field since April 17, 2015.

Cannon Falls' victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Lake City, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Cannon Falls took their victory against Lake City when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-1 score. Do the Bombers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
