Recap: Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars vs. Bloomfield Bees
This season hasn't been kind to the Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 51-16 loss at the hands of Bloomfield. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Niobrara/Verdigre has scored all season.
Layne Warrior was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and six assists for Bloomfield. The match was Warrior's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Beau Eisenhauer was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Niobrara/Verdigre's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Bloomfield, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Niobrara/Verdigre will take on Crofton at TBD on Thursday. As for Bloomfield, they will be playing at home against Wakefield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wakefield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Bloomfield is ranked 65th).
