Football Game Preview: Silverado Skyhawks vs. Cheyenne Desert Shields + How To Watch

The Silverado Skyhawks will take on the Cheyenne Desert Shields at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Silverado knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Cheyenne likes a good challenge.

On Friday, everything came up roses for Silverado against Sunrise Mountain as the squad secured a 54-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Skyhawks, who have now won six contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

Silverado's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marek Piekarski, who threw for 150 yards and three TDs. Those three passing touchdowns gave Piekarski a new career-high. Jaxton Seward was another key receiver, picking up 97 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Silverado's run defense was locked in: Sunrise Mountain could only muster 2.8 yards per carry. The team can thank Josiah Rodriguez for the heroic effort on defense: he. Silverado didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.9.

Silverado's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Brandon Belyeu with three. He is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Silverado got some further help from Jonah Alipio: he picked up a sack and made five total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Cheyenne played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Mater Academy East Las Vegas 52-6. The Desert Shields were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-6.

Silverado's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Cheyenne, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
