Basketball Game Preview: Leake Academy Rebels vs. Pillow Academy Mustangs

The Leake Academy Rebels will challenge the Pillow Academy Mustangs at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Leake Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Pillow Academy likes a good challenge.

Leake Academy took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Simpson Academy 59-56. The 59-point effort marked the Rebels' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Pillow Academy hadn't done well against Choctaw County recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Tuesday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, the Mustangs made off with a 52-51 victory over the Chargers.

Pillow Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Leake Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Leake Academy strolled past Pillow Academy when the teams last played back in November by a score of 65-48. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
