Basketball Game Preview: Hoover Huskies vs. Nicholas County Grizzlies

The Hoover Huskies are taking a road trip to take on the Nicholas County Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hoover is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game dating back to last season last Monday. They took a 52-36 bruising from Logan.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ayva Veltri, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Haas, who scored six points in addition to 13 boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Nicholas County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Parkersburg and fell 77-28. The matchup marked the Grizzlies' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Nicholas County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Hoover, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Hoover and Nicholas County were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but Hoover came up empty-handed after a 44-43 defeat. Can Hoover avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
