East Surry extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 9-4. They blew past the Surry Central Golden Eagles 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

As for Surry Central, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since October 15, 2024.

Surry Central's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Presley Smith, who had ten kills and six digs. Smith is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 27 games she's played dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Surry will square off against North Surry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Surry Central, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against East Wilkes at 6:00 p.m.
