South Hills entered their tilt with San Dimas on Wednesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Saints. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-0 back in March.

Joseph Moreno spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ayden Vieth was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

South Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matches.

South Hills pushed their record up to 16-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for San Dimas, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: South Hills beat the Saints by a score of 4-2 on Friday.
